About Professional Conveyancing Services

Professional Conveyancing Services (PCS) is very much a Family owned and run business for over 21 years. Established in Glen Waverley in 1986 PCS was one of the first practicing Conveyancing firms in Victoria and prides themselves on professional and friendly services for you... The Client.

Founding Principal, Pauline Barrow, has been instrumental in pioneering the Conveyancing profession for others who have chosen Conveyancing as a career path. Such as her husband Greg who in the early 90's was looking for a change in careers and undertook the associate Diploma in Legal Studies at RMIT and now works in Partnership with Pauline.

After completing a Business Course in the 1970's, Pauline began her professional career in the legal services market, firstly working in legal firms for 10 years and thereafter in her own Conveyancing firm established in 1986. She is a hands-on Conveyancer but is also interested in seeing her profession grow within Victoria and nationally and therefore has taken on numerous roles at an executive level within the Conveyancing Profession. Currently she is the Victorian State President and National Vice President of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers. Pauline is a founding member of the Victorian Conveyancers' Association which is now the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (Victorian Division).

Pauline enjoys her profession, especially in researching and solving difficult issues and takes a keen interest in the education for the Conveyancing Profession especially in light of the current changes for the conveyancing profession in Victoria. Her contributions have been many and include representation on many conveyancing related committees.

Pauline's goal is to see Conveyancers recognized as highly esteemed professionals throughout Australasia.

As a result of exceptional services and expertise in all aspects of Conveyancing and Property Law much of Pauline and Greg's business stems from client referrals and that of leading market players/professionals. Whether you are buying or selling Property they strive to provide hassle free services

Our services include:

  • Vendor Section 32 Statements
  • Residential property conveyancing
  • Commercial/industrial property conveyancing
  • Subdivisions
  • Family related Transfers

Why use Professional Conveyancing Services?

If you don't choose the right Conveyancer, the transfer can become a nightmare. By choosing PCS we will ensure that your experience is as pleasant as possible. We are professionals who do much more. We apply our wide knowledge to advise and direct clients when making an important decision to buy or sell and we check that the client is getting what they agreed to and attend to the transfer.

We represent you, not the agent. As your independent adviser, we should be consulted about the meaning of the contract and related documents before you sign. We can identify and provide relevant conditions to protect your interests - particularly if you are a purchaser. Fees are important but not the only consideration. A lesser fee often reflects less time, less expertise or less care and often involves trading price for risk and quality. We keep our fees to a minimum and with our partnerships may even be able to have your financier contribute to your costs. We are a member of a professional body, the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (Victorian Division) which ensures access to current information, professional development, professional indemnity insurance and a code of conduct.

Pauline Barrow is a Certified Practising Conveyancer (CPC) with over 30 years in her profession.

Frequently Asked Question

Question: Should buyers and sellers use the same conveyancer(CPC)?
Answer: There is nothing legally wrong with using the same conveyancer (CPC), however, the AIC does not recommend this practice. Your conveyancer (CPC) is working for you and to give you the best advice and guidance throughout your transaction.
It is not always possible to give a buyer and seller the same advice and a conflict can arise. Sometimes these conflicts are only small but can have a large bearing on your transaction and it is not always possible to predict when a conflict may arise. The small amount of savings made, if any, when using the same conveyancer (CPC) will not balance out the risks that are potentially huge. Large delays can be experienced if the conveyancer (CPC) cannot continue to act for either party if a conflict of interest arises.
Remember that conveyancing is not just the filling out of forms and attending to stamp duty payments. This may be the largest transaction of your life and you will want to know that your conveyancer (CPC) is acting in your best interests and not compromising with someone else's at the same time. Have comfort of mind by using your own CPC.
